Violet has never considered her strange talent to be a gift; it mostly just led her to find the dead birds her cat had tired of playing with. But now that a serial killer has begun terrorizing her small town, and the echoes of the local girls he's claimed haunt her daily, she realizes she might be the only person who can stop him.
Despite his fierce protectiveness over her, Jay reluctantly agrees to help Violet on her quest to find the murderer—and Violet is unnerved to find herself hoping that Jay's intentions are much more than friendly. But even as she's falling intensely in love, Violet is getting closer and closer to discovering a killer... and becoming his prey herself.

I feel like I am on a Kimberly Derting love train, so I figured I would share the love and review The Body Finder.
The Body Finder was Kimberly's debut novel, and what an
introduction to the YA world it was! Now, I've read some questionable books by
first-time novelists, but this one was nothing like like what I expected. It was a really great
book with an equally great and original premise. Basically, Violet Ambrose, the book's protagonist, can sense the echoes of the dead.
How creepy/awesome is that?
Mystery and suspense really drive this novel. Just when you think you
have everything figured out, there goes Kimberly throwing in some unexpected twists that will leave you speed-flipping through pages until the very end. This book is insanely addictive and,
I warn you, once you start, you won’t want to stop.
I really, really enjoyed this book! Kimberly Derting is such a great addition to
the young adult world and I can't wait to see what she comes up with next!
Desires of the Dead is the followup novel to The Body Finder
