Blogspiration is a new weekly meme hosted by GrowingUpYA and Saz101. The meme was created to help spark inspiration among bloggers, readers and writers alike. An inspirational quote/picture/video is posted weekly, on the day of the author's choosing, so that it may inspire creativity, conversation or just a little SOMETHING.
For this week's Blogspiration post Sarah and I posed the following question:
What is your favorite literary quote?
Of all the books that have come into my life, I have to say that there is something uniquely magical about The Piper's Son by Melina Marchetta. This book speaks to me in a way that very few others can.
Now, this quote in particular, while short and simple, has made it's way into my very heart where it refuses to let go.

So I don't think I got to thank you and Sarah for making me think about the Blogspiration question this week, so THANK YOU. I wish I had a notebook filled with quotes I love, so that searching would have been easier and more meaningful, but that's completely my fault. At least I got to rediscover old books, and I think I'll be reading more of Gaiman's works (since one of his quotes is my chosen one). I can't wait to read my Melina Marchetta book now, too!
ReplyDeleteAnyway, the quote you chose is beautiful. I grew up hearing various versions of that, and maybe even that as it is, but hearing it from teachers and priests when talking about Genesis, for example, is different from reading it in a book—and a beautiful one at that. I'm so glad you felt something when reading it, and that a book touched you that much.
Have an amazing Sunday, Kristin! Looking forward to more Blogspiration posts with you and Sarah!
Oooh, I like that one. It really means a lot in such few words. Thanks for sharing.
